Holidays Post
Since I was away for the holiday I was unable to work on my project.
This post will cover all my progress in the week following the holidays as I will be pressed for time I will condense this down into one blog post that I will add to all the progress and issues I faced during this week.
After returning i carried on working on the last scenes
this was my Moon scene.
The Main Issues i had were
- lighting the moon properly
- getting my character look like he is moving is low gravity
-making my character interact with the lever and put weight behind his movements.
lighting the moon properly:
For lighting the moon scenes properly i ended up using a big blue light that lay overhead of the characters walking path this lit the characters face but had little to no effect on the moons surface as the blue light was just blended in with the texture of my moon.
- getting my character look like he is moving is low gravity
This was a difficult issue to fix as my character had to look like he was floating along.
in the jump scene I slowed down the jumps a lot to take some time. and the jump was faster on the way up to the way down making it look as if he floats to the surface.
in this scene shown below.
i made my character have a normal walk cycle transition into a jump to show the change in gravity.
making my character interact with the lever and put weight behind his movements
\
this proved to be a very difficult task to accomplish since i needed Zuff to look like he had some weight behind hid movements and still there to be an interaction with the lever.
so for the first shot with the lever i make zuffs hand slide along the lever showing it to be stuck and in budging and in the second the lever slightly moves with zuffs movement showing him being able to wiggle it loose a bit.
then the final kick the lever follows through with his movements form contact.
